We will depart London Friday evening with car sharing available for those that need transport. Our accommodation is YHA Eyam where I have booked a number of female, male and mixed bedrooms. YHA Eyam (Beech Hurst) is a Victorian folly resembling a tiny turreted castle perched on the hillside above the historic village of Eyam. The house was built in 1887 – the Golden Jubilee year of Queen Victoria and has all we need for a great stay in the Peak District, bedding is provided. You will need to bring your own food for breakfasts and packed lunches but if you want to pay extra you can book a full breakfast and even packed lunches from the hostel (let me know in advance).
On Sunday we will drive 30 minutes to Longnor where our 9 mile (14.5km) walk starts in the village square. Our route provides extensive views of the Dove Valley and includes the peaks of Parkhouse Hill and Chrome Hill. We should be back at the vehicles in Longnor by 3pm and so you can expect to be back in London by about 7pm.
