Lake District (Cumbria – Lake Windermere) – Easter Bank Holiday Weekend 9-13 Apr 2020

April 9, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - April 13, 2020 @ 7:30 pm

Hi Everyone: We hope to see you on the trail, or up the mountain as soon as we all can. In the meantime: It’s up to all of us to slow the spread of COVID-19. Everyone, including young and healthy people, should avoid large gatherings during this time. Stay up-to-date with public health guidelines from nhs.uk.
We will start trips again as soon as it is safe to do so for everyone …. look out for new events perhaps later in the summer.
Stay safe and take care
Kind Regards
London Adventure Group

For this Easter Bank Holiday trip we will depart from London on Thursday evening and head to Ambleside in Cumbria.  Car sharing will be available for those that need it and options will be announced nearer the time (please indicate this as a requirement when booking your ticket).  You are welcome to make your own way to the accommodation if you prefer.

Our sole occupancy, exclusive hire accommodation is Eagle Crag Bunk House, ideally located for our hikes and local attractions – and situated on the Brathay Estate in beautiful woodland settings.  Lake Windermere is a stone’s throw away, and the fells are on our doorstep.

The accommodation is spacious, with a dining area and plenty of seating areas as well as a games room.  There is a TV room located in the building with bean bags and comfy chairs, and the bunkhouse is fully centrally heated.  There are showers and toilets, a large dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with a large oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a kitchenette with a hot water boiler, sink and fridge.  The sleeping accommodation is 4 bedded dorms with a couple of twin room options, but please bring own sleeping bags, pillows and towels.  If you are self-catering, you will need to bring your own food for breakfasts, dinners and packed lunches – alternatively Ambleside, a brisk walk away, has lots of great eateries, supermarkets and shops.  There is an option to have a locally cooked breakfast.

During this Bank Holiday weekend we will walk to many spectacular areas and locations – our walks will be planned each day from one of the following:
Helvellyn – 950m (third highest mountain in England)
Loughrigg Fell & Rydal Water – 335m

Red Screes – 776m & Scandale Fell
