Our exclusive hire accommodation is Eagle Crag Bunk House, ideally located for our hikes over this bank holiday weekend – and situated on the Brathay Estate in beautiful woodland settings, Lake Windermere is a stone’s throw and the fells are on your doorstep. The accommodation is spacious, with a dining area and plenty of seating areas as well as a games room. There is a TV room located in the building with bean bags and comfy chairs, and it has a games room and the bunkhouse is fully centrally heated. There are showers and toilets, a large dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with a large oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a kitchenette with a hot water boiler, sink and fridge. Please bring own sleeping bags, pillows and towels. If you are self-catering, you will need to bring your own food for breakfasts, dinners and packed lunches – alternatively Ambleside, a brisk walk away, has lots of great eateries, supermarkets and shops. There is an option to have a locally cooked breakfast.

After Monday’s walk, we will return to the vehicles and depart back to London – you can expect to be back in London by about 7-8pm Monday evening.
Hi,
Does the price includes transportation? I would come with a friend. We are living in London but don’t have a car.
How many hours walk would we have per day?
And how difficult is it?
Thanks
Hi Audrey. Thanks for your email and query.
The price covers the accommodation and the guided hikes. You are welcome to organise your own travel, or alternatively there is a car share option – when you go through the booking process it asks if you wish to opt for the car share. We will always ensure that there is a car share space for all those choosing this option. The car share option is estimated at £70-£75 for this trip which includes the London to Lakes return plus all the local transfers up there.
The walks vary in length and duration, but typically we leave after breakfast at 9am and finish the walk at 3-4pm. We have stops for lunch and pics etc. In previous bank holiday weekend trips some people have opted to sit out one of the days and they do a low level walk to Grasmere or just into Ambleside for a chilled relaxing day. The hikes are not difficult, but hiking up a mountain or hill is different to going to the gym etc, however anyone with average fitness will manage all the hikes. I will assess which hikes we do according to various factors: what people want to do; the average fitness level; and the weather forecast that day.
Please let me know if you have any additional queries.
Thanks
Kind Regards
Richie
