Summary
For this bank holiday weekend we will be based in the heart of the Lake District near Lake Windermere – Ambleside area, as this offers spectacular hiking in this popular hiking area. We will depart from London on Friday early evening and travel to our exclusive hire accommodation (Shackleton Lodge) near Ambleside (Cumbria).
If you need a car share for this bank holiday trip we can help organise this for you, just email us once you book your ticket and we will reserve a place for you (first come first served basis). You are welcome to make your own way to Ambleside if you prefer.
For this bank holiday weekend we have booked sole use of Shackleton Lodge (Brathay Trust) in Windermere (You will need your own sleeping bag, pillows and towels). We are close to all the amenities in Ambleside, the location is also ideal for the places we will visit during the trip. The lodge is not staffed so we shall be self-catering meals for the duration. There is a kitchen block and a purpose built barbecue area within the grounds. Alternatively Ambleside, a brisk walk away, has lots of great eateries.
