Overseas Hiking

Whilst most of our hiking trips take place in the UK, the group does like to give it's members as much variety as possible by looking at destinations overseas.

Past trips have included a trip to Norway where we were based in the Jotunheimen National Park. Jotunheimen roughly translates to 'The Home of The Giants'. During the trip we reached the summits of the two highest peaks in Norway, Galdhøpiggen at a height of 2469m and Glittertind at 2465m. The trip also included a guided walk to Memurubu which included a walk across a glacier. We hope to visit Norway again to do more hiking and to visit the Fjords.

Future overseas hiking trips could include:

  • The Tour Du Mont Blanc
  • Hiking in The Julian Alps of Slovenia
  • A trip to The Pyrenees
  • A trip to Jura in France
  • The Atlas mountains in Morocco including the highest peak, Jebel Toubkal
