Does it cost anything to join the group?
No there is no membership fee. We took the decision to keep admin to a minimum and concentrate on making the trips as much fun as possible.
Do I need previous experience for any of the trips?
Generally no. We try and be as inclusive as possible. However some of the harder trips will need some level of experience and the organiser of the event will make it clear if this is the case.
Is the group open to people of all ages?
The group is open to anyone aged 18+. We have members of all ages with the average age of the group being early 30's. Age is not really relevent, an outgoing fun personality is more important.
Do I need to own lots of equipment to join?
No most of our events do not require special equipment. Generally the required equipment is listed on the website for each trip and the organiser will answer any questions you might have. With regards to clothing and equipment, members of the group are able to get 15% discount with Cotswold Outdoors should there be any items they need.
How do I book a space on an event?
To secure a space on the trip you will need to contact the organiser directly. Links to the organiser's email address appear in the newsletters we send out so it is worth signing up to the mailing list. Alternatively you can use the contact us link on this website and we will forward your query.
If I need to cancel my booking for an event am I entitled to a refund?
If your space can be sold to another member then you will receive a full refund. Since the group is not run on a profit basis we are unable to give refunds if this would mean the organiser losing money. Since the organiser is using their own money to book accommodation etc you are asked to pay the deposit or full payment requested by the organiser. Failure to pay promptly will mean your space is offered to someone on the reserve list.
