Cycling
Many of our members enjoy cycling whether it be on roads, disused railway lines or dedicated cycle paths. The National Cycle Network is over 12,000 miles of quiet, traffic-free lanes and on-road cycling routes throughout the United Kingdom. This is a perfect escape from the busy roads of central London that some of us are used to when cycling to work
Unlike most dedicated cycle clubs which are usually aimed at competitive cyclists most of our members cycle for fun, only occasionally taking part in competitions. Whilst some of our members own bikes, some of our cycling trips begin close to cycle hire shops, allowing those without a bike to join the event.
The group welcomes new cyclists to the group, particularly those who are keen to help organise more cycling events for our programme.
Some of the routes we have cycled or plan to cycle soon include:
- Crab and Winkle Way
- The Viking Coastal Trail
- The Tarka Trail
- The Tissington Trail
- The Windsor Whirl
- London to Brighton
- Richmond Park
- Isle of Wight circuit
